ROKiT Cities begins deployment in Codrington Barbuda
Following the devasting impact of Hurricane Irma in 2017, ROKiT Co-founders, John Paul Dejoria and Jonathan Kendrick, have generously provided ROKiTs out of home state of the art Smart Cities technology to support the 1,300 people in Codrington, currently the only residential area for locals on the island of Barbuda.
With expert assistance from the Barbuda Ocean Club and backhaul provider Digicel, the ROKiT Cities Wifi service will be free of charge and initially connect the Barbuda Community Centre and two schools, before rolling out to provide free connectivity to the entire town.
Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of ROKiT said, ‘We’re working flat out to deploy our out of home WI-Fi service as fast as possible on the Caribbean Island of Barbuda. It will make such a difference to the people living there, improving access to education, and connecting them all to the rest of the world. It's a real team effort to make this work.’
